Easy Birria De Res

Everybody talks about Birria, it’s all the rave when it comes to tacos but no one talks about how easy it is to make!

Ingredients:

  • Chuck Roast

  • 1/3 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1 lime juiced

  • 3-4 Chipotle Chiles

  • 4 Garlic Cloves

  • 2 Tsp Oregano

  • 4 Tsp Cumin

  • 2 Tsp Salt

  • 1/2 Tsp Cloves

  • 1 Onion

  • 1 Can El Pato Tomato Sauce

  • 3/4 Cup Chicken Broth

  • 4 Bay Leaves

Instructions:

  1. Sear Meat: Salt & pepper your chuck roast. In a hot cast iron skillet with oil, sear chuck roast on all sides.

  2. Combine Ingredients & spin: Add all ingredients (except Bay leaves & chicken broth) to blender & blend til smooth. Add chicken broth to desired consistency. I like it in a wet sauce, the meat will add it’s own oils to it as well.

  3. In the Pot: Add the chuck roast to a crock pot or a large pot. Cover meat with sauce then add bay leaves.

  4. Low & Slow: Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours (or until meat is tender and pulls apart easily).

  5. Use It Well: Separate the meat from the sauce and use it how you wish! Use tortillas and melty cheese for tacos on a skillet, add to ramen, whatever you do use that beautiful sauce and enjoy!

  6. Caveat* This is slightly spicy, my kids liked it in small doses. For a less spicy version, trade pato for tomato sauce.
